GENERAL DISCRIPTION

We have two gites available for rent:

GITE 1

A one room one bathroom studio, suitable for two adults and a child and

GITE 2

A two room and a bathroom Apartment suitable for two adults and two children.

Both Gites are completely independent and are situated on the ground floor of a large Farmhouse which sits within half a hectare of mature garden. There is also a large swimming pool 12 x 5 metres and a Tennis Court

THE GITES

Both Gites are equipped to a very high standard with a large 32 inch flat screen TV's with integrated DVD players, large beds (160cm) and air conditioning. The kitchens have fridges, dishwasher, sinks and all cooking utensils are provided. There is "Hydra" power shower in the bathroom. All bed linen and inside towels are provided, you will need to bring beach towels. There is also free WIFI (even by the pool!)

THE LOCATION

The Gites are situated on a private road with No views of any neighbors, the large garden is full of olive and fruit trees and vines and is completely fenced off, with an electric gate for entry and exit. There are views over the Pyrenees most notably Mont Canigou

NEARBY TOWNS AND VILLAGES

The Gites are located 5 minutes South/East of Perpignan (The Catalan capital of France). There is direct access to the beaches (Argeles-Sur-Mer, Canet Plage, St Cyprien......) which are starting from 15 minutes away. You will discover a stunning coastline of white sandy beaches stretching for miles. The Spanish boarder is only 30 km away and Barcelona 200km.

ENTERTAINMENT AND ACTIVITIES

There are numerous activities available in the region: Walking, Horse Riding, Swimming, Diving, Skiing (in the winter), sailing, Jet Ski, Aqua Parks and Markets every day to name but a few and for the more learned of you Perpignan's fascinating history is catered for with its Museums, Palaces and Monuments, The Dali museum is 40 minutes away in Spain. We have a 14 cinema complex five minutes walk away, with bars, bowling and restaurants.

SERVICES AND COMMERCE

There is a bus (€ 1 !) which takes you to the center of Perpignan and to Argeles Beach a 5 minute walk away, we have an excellent baker again only 5 minutes away. The supermarkets Auchun and Carrefour are a 10 minute drive (Please note that they are closed on Sunday, so you will have to shop when you get here) There is also very good Cycle routes and you can hire bikes in the town.

HOW TO GET HERE?

Ryanair, Flybe and Bmibaby to Perpignan Airport from Stanstead, Birmingham, Southampton and Manchester respectively, the Perpignan airport is about 20 minutes away. Otherwise Ryanair have daily flights from all over the UK in Gerona Airport (Spain) which is one hours drive away (we tend to find that these flights particularly in season are cheaper. We can arrange airport pick ups for a small fee, otherwise I would recommend that you hire a car and we find that www.autoeurope.co.uk have the best rates with ZERO excess charges !

OPERATING TIMES

We are open all year round, in season we operate on a Saturday Check in 15.00 to Saturday Check out 10.00am basis, you can stay at the house (by the pool) if you have a late or early flight, we are very flexible and here to make you have a great holiday so please ask ! For those of you new to the Gite system. We are not a Hotel, the Gite will be cleaned by its previous occupant (Yes I do check !) and you are expected to to the same prior to your departure, we clean all the room linen, we do offer a cleaning service for £ 50.00.
Out of season (October-April) we do offer long weekends, minimum stay 3 nights.

THE WEATHER

Perpignan and the Cote Vermeille are famous for the sun, it boasts a minimum 300 days of sunshine per year, so it is an ideal holiday destination all year round, Christmas day 20 degrees ! It can get very hot in the summer but we are very fortunate to be close to the Mountains so often have cool breezes, it can also get quite windy but still sunny at times, which the sailors amongst you won't mind

PRICES

Prices are very much dependant on when you want to come, we start at £ 250.00 per week (low season) and go up to £650.00 (high season) There is a small supplement per child in season  (£ 25.00 per week in July and August) I will need 30% of your rent payable upfront to secure your booking and the balance the week before you arrive, I will give you my UK bank details or you can pay in euros at the exchange rate of the day on arrival . We also require a deposit of £ 300.00 on arrival to cover any loss or breakages, which we will return on departure.
